I bet you have heard the advice to remove the log from your eyes before removing the spec from someone else’s. I bet you might also have heard of the related Swahili saying ‘Nyani haoni kundule’ which literally means that the monkey does not see its behind. both these sayings, you would agree, refer to correcting your own mistakes (taking care of your own business) before correcting someone else – put simply that is. But is it true about the monkey? Does it really not see its behind or know what its behind looks like? is it really a fact that as one monkey laughs at the one ahead of the pack it is not aware that its behind looks the same? I really doubt it! I think the same way that one KNOWS they have a log in their eye is the same way that the monkey has a good idea of the state of its behind. It would therefore help if people faced to their lives’ realities and the state of their behind…..
